Big W is one of Australia’s largest discount department stores and since 2002, Big W (SA) has been working with and supporting the Bone Health Foundation.
In 2002, Big W (SA) committed to raise $250,000 over five years – which they exceeded by $20,000. At the Foundation’s annual dinner in 2007, then State Manager, Mr David Loy, announced that Big W would commit to raising additional funds totaling $500,000 by the end of 2011.
The partnership continues today – with Big W raising over $700,000 to date.
Big W raise this money in a number of ways – through point of sale products, donation tins at checkout, employee deductions, sausage sizzles and instore campaigns including the current $2 token campaigns.
Money raised through Big W’s fundraising efforts is directed towards education and research in bone health and musculoskeletal conditions, particularly towards children.
The Bone Health Foundation thank Big W and all their staff for their ongoing generosity. It is greatly appreciated.
