What We Do
Education
Our mantra at the Bone Health Foundation is
‘Healthy Bones for Every Body’
In order to get the message out we have a program targeted toward Upper Primary school student. Designed specifically to adhere to the Education Departments Units of Work, students also learn about the importance of bone health.

Research
ANZBMS and Bone Health Foundation (BHF) to work together to fund research grants again in 2026.
What’s New?
Consumer involvement is increasingly expected by major funders and journals. Beyond meeting requirements, meaningful involvement can strengthen research relevance, improve feasibility and enhance impact. For discovery scientists and clinicians alike, early engagement can shape research questions, refine study design and improve communication and translation pathways.
The ANZBMS and BHF are pleased to announce we have partnered with the WA Health Translation Network’s Consumer and Community Involvement program to strengthen consumer involvement across bone and mineral research.
This year we will again be offering up to 2 x $50,000 Health Innovation Grants, and up to 2 x $25,000 Early Career Research Grants.

Since 2022 The Bone Health Foundation has funded over $450,000 in seed grants Grants for Early Career Researchers, including 7 x $25,000 Grants in Aid projects in conjunction with the ANZBMS. In 2023 we added two additional $50,000 Health Innovation Grants.
It is estimated the cost of treatment of bone disorders exceeds $4.6 Billion per annum and it’s a figure that is expected to rise as our population continues to age.
This is why the Foundation works so hard to provide vital funds for research with an aim to:
Fund great ideas
Support talented researchers and clinicians
Fund clinical trials
